About Valeria's
Ship

The Othel Wynn is a Dutch Caravel. It was
commissioned and launched on October 1st
in the year 1996.

This is our ship's Heraldry.
The Caravel is a two or three masted ship. It was used
primarily in the late Medieval to early Renaissance
period.
It was the precursor to the English Galleon and
represented high technology in it's time. Caravels ran 70
feet long and 20 feet wide. It had multi-level 'castles'
in the for and aft sections ('castles' refers to level
built on deck, such as crew's quarters, galley's and the
like).
It carried a crew of 30 to 40 people. It's cargo capacity
was 200 tons.
At the time of use it was considered to be one of the
most stable and reliable vessels afloat.
